INTERIOR DESIGN DEPARTMENT
室設系成立於1997年，為大高雄地區唯一以室內設計為名之高等學府，以因應亞太營運中心建立與國際大都會生活環境的發展，積極培育具國際觀和本土關懷之室內設計專業技術人才。室內設計在現階段的發展中，亟需建構其知識、技術和職場等相關專業範疇，以確立其學門主體。本校室內設計系針對「室內設計」學門的特殊屬性，藉由─「人因環境數位模擬」、「室內暨建築設計本體論研究」、「室內外構造、裝修、裝飾建材設計開發」和「室內空間數位虛擬輔助設計」等四大應用性理論與科技，進行空間設計專業化與躍升；同時也積極尋求一種足以統合本系特有之三大師資結構（室內、建築和藝術）、三大專業模組（居住空間、公商展演、室內建築），以及四大課程結構（基礎、理論、技術、設計）等三方結構層級的課務內容，以奠定未來室內設計系所的中、長期發展基礎，並培養具前瞻與專業的室內設計人才。
Established in 1997, the Department of Interior Design was the only one in the Great Kaohsiung area that integrates the Department of Interior Design and the Graduate school of Architecture and Interior Design. Our objective is to train specialized technical professionals with a global and local view. This department has been developing curricula focusing on cultivating knowledge, skills, and job-related expertise. This department pursues advanced and professional training in interior design and features four applied theories, including (1) technology of human factors digital simulation, (2) ontology of interior and architecture design, (3) design and development of interior and exterior construction, decoration, and decorative building materials, along with (4) interior space digital and virtually aided design.
In order to cultivate visionary and professional students, this department manages to integrate (1) teaching resources of interior design, architecture, and art, (2) three modules of living space, public business performances, and interior architecture, and (3) curricula of foundation, theory, technology and design for medium and long-term development.
未來發展
FUTURE
本系落實學生學習制度，創造與產業互動媒合機制，先後與「中華民國室內設計裝修商業同業公會全國聯合會」、「中華民國室內裝修專業技術人員學會」、及「高雄市空間藝術學會」，簽訂產學策略聯盟伙伴，進行設計師演習機制與人才培育。同時與歐盟生態城市德國團隊、香港中文大學建築系、香港中大中國住宅研究中心等簽訂雙方合作與學術交流協議，優秀學生能在本校國際學院進行多方短期國外學習交流。
畢業後，在進修方面，可報考國內外室內設計、應用藝術與建築相關研究所；在就業出路，通過專技檢定與培訓成為國家考試之專門職業及技術人員的「室內設計技師」；或於室內設計、裝修工程公司等擔任專業技術人員；或自行創業成立室內設計裝修工程公司；也可於建築師事務所或建設公司從事室內設計部門設計師；另外加修教育學程，於高中、職從事教育工作；或從事空間藝術工作者，進行公共藝術與空間藝術創作。

COURSE INTRODUCTION
本系課程規劃結合專業教學、產業實習以及人格教育，對應各年級課程，逐步精實各專業。課程以設計課程「基本設計」與「建築與室內設計」作為核心平台，將專業知識、專業技能以以下三項主軸進行，並依照三項主軸使學生適性發展，成就自我。
